I am a member of the class of 2013 at Northeastern University, majoring in Computer Science. My primary interests are operating systems and computer architecture. Currently I am engineering a mechanism to transparently checkpoint and restart InfiniBand programs.
I taught myself to program computers in middle school in 2001, and continue to enjoy it as a hobby and academic interest to this day. My primary programming language is C, as it is needed for most of the systems programming I do. In some twisted way I enjoy the challenges posed by C's pointers and manual memory allocation -- I feel closer to the hardware. I do have a strong understanding of both object oriented and functional programming languages.
Aside from computers, I also play bass guitar, and am an avid skier and golfer. In high school I was a varsity letterman in swimming, and am currently learning how to surf. I enjoy weight training as well and am always pushing myself to lift heavier weights.
